BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee values its strong relationship with brokers and consultants. We understand that health care reform will change the health care delivery system and directly impact how you will market health care benefits to your clients. We believe your participation in the Health Insurance Marketplace in Tennessee is critical to its success.
Participating in the Health Insurance Marketplace
Agents and brokers will be required to complete training and pass an annual test before being permitted to sell products through Tennessee’s federally-facilitated Health Insurance Marketplace. You must first create an online account through the Health Insurance Marketplace portal. Registration and training is expected to be available on or around July 1, 2013.
Commission Schedule
You will earn commission for products sold through the Marketplace. Commissions will be paid by the insurer, and not the Marketplace. Insurers must pay the same commission for a qualified health plan sold through the Marketplace that would be paid for similar health plans sold outside the Marketplace. Final regulations are still pending. We will let you know our commission schedule with plenty of notice.
Keeping You Informed
We remain committed to keeping you up-to-date on the various provisions of health care reform law and how we will implement them. Any changes to health care coverage that may directly impact employer groups and members will be communicated to you in a timely manner through our traditional communications channels. You can always check this website for the latest information specific to the Marketplace.
Be sure to check your secure BlueAccess® account for secure broker updates. If you don’t have a BlueAccess account, create a BlueAccess Account to register.
